Privacy Risk & Compliance Officer

Salary: Dependent on experience

Location: UK

About the Role

The Privacy Risk & Compliance Officer (PRCO) is responsible for the overall administration and execution of global compliance, risk, and privacy programs for the country or subsidiary. This role reports directly to country management, with direct line reporting to the Regional Privacy Officer, Head of Risk, and Head of Compliance.


Responsibilities

The PRCO is responsible and accountable for the following key areas, as well as other tasks directed by leadership and stakeholders:

Privacy Management

  • Privacy Notice/Consent Form Communication & Reporting

    • Ensure all new hires receive privacy notices/consent forms upon employment, and all employees receive updated notices and consents (where needed) in collaboration with local HR and recruiting teams.
    • Track and verify communication/disclosure of privacy notices to ensure they are received by all employees.
    • Monitor and document the distribution and receipt of consent (when required).
    • Align privacy notice and consent communications with the Global Privacy, Risk & Compliance Office.
  • Ongoing Monitoring & Reporting of Personal Data Activities

    • Regularly monitor all personal data processing activities for the country/subisdiary.
    • Escalate changes or new personal data activities to the Global Privacy & Compliance Office.

Records of Processing (ROP) Management & Compliance

  • ROP Completion & Updates

    • Ensure ROC compliance in OneTrust for Controller & Processor ROP’s, including:
      • Proper documentation of new or modified personal data processing activities (for controllers and processors).
      • Documentation of new local clients or changes to existing client processing activities.
      • Coordination with local/regional IT to review and ensure the accuracy and completeness of IT ROP’s.
      • Partnership with Regional Subject Area Managers (SAMs) to update Processor ROP’s for global clients.
      • Collaboration with local functions to maintain and update Controller ROP’s.
  • ROP Quality Review

    • Conduct reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy of ROP’s.
    • Work with functional team leads to address discrepancies or gaps.

Client Contracts Compliance

  • Ensure existing clients are updated on data privacy amendments, including:
    • Notifying them of changes.
    • Initiating contract negotiation and updating contracts with updated privacy compliance provisions.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, SAM’s, and legal teams to include appropriate privacy and compliance provisions in new client agreements.
  • Report on contract negotiations and compliance provisions to the Global Privacy, Risk & Compliance Office.

Vendor Due Diligence

  • Conduct Privacy and Compliance Due Diligence for new and existing vendors:
    • Work with local and global procurement teams to ensure processes are followed.
    • Review and approve Vendor Due Diligence Questionnaires (or escalate to the SVP of Privacy, CPO, and Regional Privacy Officer as needed).
    • Ensure compliance processes are completed prior to executing new vendor contracts.

** Reporting & Documentation**

  • Provide regular metrics as requested by the Global Privacy, Risk & Compliance Office.
  • Support client bid and due diligence activities, assisting with pre-sale privacy and compliance conversations.
  • Assist Go-Live activities in alignment with the TP control framework.

Compliance Management

  • Maintain and monitor the Global Compliance Framework within jurisdiction scope:
    • Regular monitoring and tracking of local laws, regulations, and obligations in compliance, privacy, and risk fields.
    • Report new or amended legislative changes to the Global Privacy, Risk & Compliance Office.
  • Act as the point of contact for BCR/GDPR, contract-related audits, and compliance audits.
  • Conduct performance analysis of Privacy, Risk & Compliance systems, assess control efficiency, and recommend improvements.
  • Identify and escalate risks and non-compliance issues related to handling and processing.
  • Ensure compliance with Privacy, Risk & Compliance systems across the organization and all internal standards.
  • Oversee Privacy & Compliance training program delivery.
  • Promote regulatory awareness, support compliance initiatives, and report to senior management and regulatory bodies.

Risk Management

The PRCO is instrumental in maintaining and advancing the Risk Management Framework:

  • Develop and embed the Risk Management Framework within all processes and roles.
  • Identify and assess risks under their purview and work with management teams to document risks and internal controls.
  • Roll out mitigation plans and define actionable plans for high-risk issues.
  • Maintain and monitor the Risk Register to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Provide regular updates and risk-related documentation to the Global Risk Team.
  • Promote risk awareness and align local teams on risk framework objectives.
  • Ensure accurate use of Risk Categories and conduct periodic reviews of controls.
  • Drive quality and continuous improvement in risk management processes.
  • Support the Teleperformance Risk Framework with documentation, communication, and implementation.
  • Gather and report financial risk exposures as applicable.
  • Address risk management inquiries and provide guidance to local teams.

Requirements

Core Competencies

  • Strong assertiveness, cogent understanding of the TP country/subisdiary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Prior experience in risk, compliance, or privacy roles
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking
  • Ability to engage effectively across all organization levels.
  • Excellent influencing and cross-functional collaboration skills to deliver global program objectives.

Qualifications & Certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent preferred)
  • Previous privacy regulations certification (e.g., IAPP CIPP/E, CIPM) or willingness to obtain a recognized certification within 6 months.
  • Working knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) legislation (a plus).
  • Fluent in English.
