Private Adult Nurse – IV Specialist
Location: London, Greater London Shifts/Working Hours: Flexible Pay Rates: £40.52 per hour

You will deliver a clinically led customer experience, going beyond expectations to enhance the lives of our clients, empowering them to regain control and live to their fullest potential.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RGN) with advanced proficiency in Intravenous Therapy/Venipuncture to join our dedicated team. Your role will involve providing hospital-standard care in private homes, ensuring a seamless, safe, and dignified transition for patients. Unlike traditional hospital care, this position allows you to deliver holistic, one-to-one care, fostering deep trust while managing complex medication regimens.
Key Responsibilities

Clinical Delivery
- Independently administer prescribed IV therapies (e.g., antibiotics, anti-emetics, IV fluids) in strict adherence to clinical protocols.

Vascular Access
- Skillfully manage Peripheral Cannulas, PICC lines, Hickman lines, and Port-a-Caths, including:
- Dressing and bung changes
- Needling ports and flushing
- Maintain optimal vascular access to prevent complications and promote recovery.

Infection Prevention & Control
- Uphold stringent standards of infection prevention and control.
- Educate clients and caregivers on keeping clean, recognisable infection signs, and early management.

- Provide accurate and timely records of care delivered, including:
- Assessments
- VIP scores (Vascular Access Intake Points)
- Medications administered
- Follow professional codes of conduct and escalate patient condition changes promptly.

Patient Monitoring
- Continuously assess infusion sites for signs of phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, or other complications, escalating concerns to Clinical Lead or the patient’s Consultant as required.
- Maintain expertise in cannulation and venipuncture.

Concierge Service
- Represent Ellea Nursing professionally in private homes.
- Prioritise privacy, discretion, and clinical tidiness in all interactions.
Essential Requirements
- NMC Registration: Active registration with no current restrictions.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience, ideally within:
- Acute Medicine
- A&E
- HDU (High Dependency Unit)
- ITU (Intensive Therapy Unit)
- Dedicated IV Homecare teams
- Technical Skills: Validated competency in:
- Cannulation
- Phlebotomy
- IV Drug Administration
- Experience with PICC/CVADs (Preferred)
- Safety Training: Up-to-date with:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Anaphylaxis Management
- Attributes:
- Immaculate presentation
- Exceptional communication skills
- Confidence in working independently as an autonomous practitioner
