Associate Private Client Lawyer (Solicitor or FCILEX)

Our client is recruiting an Associate Solicitor or Associate Legal Executive to join its Private Client team.

This is a role for someone who can hit the ground running in a busy department, enjoys building trusted relationships with clients, and takes real pride in delivering high quality, accurate work. You will manage a varied private client caseload, supporting high-net-worth individuals and delivering an excellent client experience.

The caseload will include:

  • Wills
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Trusts (desirable)
  • Estate administration
  • Court of Protection

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Solicitor or FCILEX qualification
  • Minimum 3 years' private client experience
  • Proven track record of independently managing a caseload with minimal supervision
  • Strong technical ability across wills, LPAs, estate administration and Court of Protection
  • Comprehensive inheritance tax knowledge for tax planning and estate administration, including drafting appropriate documentation
  • Confidence dealing with issues of capacity and undue influence
  • Strong understanding of grants of representation and the application process
  • Ability to explain technical documents clearly in plain English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to being accessible to clients
  • Ability to supervise and support support staff
  • Collaborative approach, working well with other professionals and colleagues
