Private Client Tax Manager | Belfast - Hybrid
Advisory-Focused Role | Full Client Ownership
This is an exciting opportunity for a Private Client Tax Manager to join a highly regarded professional services firm, taking on a genuinely advisory-led role with full ownership of a diverse client portfolio. This position offers the chance to move beyond pure compliance and step into a role where you will lead on complex advisory work, build long-term client relationships, and play an active role in developing junior team members and contributing to business growth. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with client interaction, commercial thinking, and people development.
The Role
In this role, you will take ownership of a portfolio of private clients, delivering high-quality advisory services across areas such as inheritance tax, capital gains tax, trusts, estates, and succession planning. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, building strong, long-term relationships and becoming their main point of contact for complex personal tax matters.

You will also:
- Lead and deliver complex private client advisory work end-to-end
- Manage and develop client relationships, providing proactive, trusted advice
- Identify opportunities for new advisory work and contribute to business development
- Oversee multiple assignments, ensuring high-quality delivery and strong client service
- Review and sign off complex compliance work where required
- Collaborate with wider teams to deliver joined-up client solutions
- Mentor and support junior team members in their technical and professional development
- Take responsibility for engagements from initial opportunity through to delivery and billing

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong experience in private client tax within a professional services environment
- A clear focus on advisory work, alongside compliance experience
- Professional qualification (CTA, ACA/CA, ATT, STEP or equivalent)
- Experience managing client relationships directly and confidently
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
- A commercial mindset with the ability to spot and develop opportunities
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with clients
- The ability to work independently and take full ownership of your portfolio
Exposure to international tax matters and UK/Ireland cross-border work would be advantageous but not essential.
