Private Law Solicitor vacany (Hybrid – Leeds/Nottingham)

About the Role

As part of the Private Law team, you will advise on a diverse range of complex matters, including wills and succession, inheritance tax, trusts, and probate. Collaboration with our Wealth Management team will also be key in supporting mutual clients.

You will manage a varied caseload by:

  • Meeting clients to assess their needs and preferences
  • Progressing complex cases with efficiency and diligence
  • Drafting tailored documentation
  • Liaising with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders

This role ensures strict compliance with SRA and firm standards while nurturing strong client relationships and contributing to team growth.

Work basis: Hybrid, based in our Leeds or Nottingham office.


Key Responsibilities

  • Client consultation

    • Arrange and conduct meetings with new and existing clients
    • Develop tailored legal advice based on client requirements
    • Attend follow-up meetings for ongoing progress
  • Case management

    • Implement and act on client instructions accurately
    • Instruct barristers or advocates for complex court disputes
    • Correspond with clients and opposing solicitors where necessary
  • Legal service delivery

    • Advise clients on all pertinent legal issues and case progression
    • Draft complex documents, letters, and contracts
    • Research and analyse case law, documents, and legal precedents

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Qualification & experience:

    • 2–4 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
    • Commitment to personal training and professional development
  • Requirements:

    • Demonstrable ability to build and sustain strong stakeholder relationships across all firm tiers
    • Impeccable discretion, professionalism and ethical integrity
    • Proficiency working both collaboratively and independently
    • Comprehensive understanding of solicitor working practices
