Private Client Solicitor (Head of Department), 10+ Years PQE, Somerset, GBP 75,000+ (DOE)

The Role

As Head of Department, you will play a pivotal role in driving the team's continued success, providing strategic leadership and fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and client care.

  • This is a varied leadership position combining technical legal work, people management, and business development.
  • You will oversee a successful department located across several offices, ensuring the team delivers consistently high standards of service while supporting its ongoing growth and development.
  • Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will maintain your own portfolio of private client matters, advising individuals and families on a broad range of issues including wills, estate administration, trusts, tax and succession planning, and lasting powers of attorney.

Skills Required

Applications are sought from Private Client Solicitors with a minimum of 10 Years PQE looking for that next step in their career.

  • Significant expertise across wills, probate, estate administration, and succession planning, with trusts experience highly desirable.
  • A proven track record of leading, developing, and motivating successful legal teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify and deliver business development opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and approachable leadership style.
  • Confidence in supervising complex legal work, supporting colleagues, and maintaining exceptional standards of client service.
