Private Client Tax Manager – Goudhurst, Kent

Our client, a highly reputable and successful chartered accountancy practice near Goudhurst, Kent, is looking for an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to join their growing team. This market-leading practice specialises in tax advisory and compliance across Kent, London, and the Southeast, serving a diverse client base including UHNWIs, HNWIs, Trusts & Estates, Directors, and Entrepreneurs.

The role is tailored to the candidate’s experience and aspirations, offering excellent exposure to national and international clients. As a manager, you will:

About the Role

  • Be your clients’ first point of contact, providing advisory and compliance services
  • Work closely with Partners to deliver specialised tax solutions
  • Lead and manage client meetings, junior staff, and delegated work
  • Support Partner-focused projects and assist in business development (if desired)
  • Offer technical expertise to the management team

Responsibilities

  • Client management: Allocate and oversee a portfolio of clients suited to your background
  • Advisory work: Provide tailored tax advice and compliance solutions
  • Technical support: Deliver specialist knowledge to Partners in complex cases
  • Leadership: Direct client meetings, delegate tasks, and manage junior staff effectively
  • Business development: Opportunity to engage in growth strategies if aligned with your career goals

Requirements

  • Chartered qualification preferred: ATT/ACA/ACCA/CTA
  • Significant private client/personal tax experience
  • Proven expertise in portfolio management for a range of clients
  • Compliance & advisory experience (role can be tailored based on skills)
  • Strong communication skills (essential for client interactions)
  • Open to mixed tax managers for a potentially more corporate-focused role

Compensation & Benefits

Salary

£60,000 – £75,000 (depending on experience, qualifications, and background) Note: negotiable
