About the Role: As a Private Client Tax Manager, you will play a key role in managing a varied portfolio of clients and leading a team of tax professionals. You will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the delivery of high-quality client service
- Managing workflow and resource allocation
- Supporting team development
- Ensuring technical excellence across engagements
This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and relationship management skills. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to:
- Support departmental objectives
- Contribute to operational improvements

Key Responsibilities

Client Portfolio Management:
- Manage a varied portfolio of private clients, ensuring high-quality compliance and advisory services.

Team Leadership & Oversight:
- Lead and oversee junior team members (Assistant Managers, Seniors, and Trainees) with guidance, support, and technical oversight.
- Define roles for team members and allocate workloads for productivity and development.

Client Relations & Service Delivery:
- Resolve client concerns and manage expectations to maintain high responsiveness and satisfaction.
- Coordinate team projects to ensure compliance with timelines and standards.

Strategic & Operational Support:
- Support the implementation of departmental budgets, goals, and initiatives.
- Identify operational improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.

Team Development & Mentorship:
- Share technical expertise and coach team members to support their professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative working environment and uphold high professional standards.

Recruitment & Talent Development:
- Assess and oversee recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Conduct performance reviews, deliver regular feedback, and develop employee development plans.

Client Education & Regulatory Compliance:
- Inform clients of legislative and technical changes impacting their affairs.
- Ensure adherence to tax laws and best practices to maintain trust and accuracy.
Skills & Experience (Requirements)
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

Qualification & Expertise:
- A relevant professional tax qualification (e.g., CTA) or equivalent practical experience.
- Deep technical knowledge of private client tax matters (inclusions, anti-avoidance rules, ICAEW framework, etc.).

Team Management & Leadership:
- Proven ability to manage team morale, delegate tasks, and mentor junior professionals (5+ years of leadership experience preferred).
