Director, Fund Control – Fixed Term Parental Leave Coverage (12–15 months)

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Private Credit Fund Management team, which leads and supports the fund controlling, investor and financial reporting, client service, treasury, and operations functions for a range of institutional funds—both regional and global.

Our vision in Fund Management is to deliver an exceptional client experience and support Macquarie Asset Management’s growth ambition with a scalable platform, underpinned by data and technology.

This is a fixed-term contract (12–15 months), covering a period of parental leave.


What Will You Do?

As a Director leading a team of five fund controllers, you will act as a trusted business partner, engaging with stakeholders, internal support teams, and external service providers to operate the existing Private Credit fund platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight of live end-to-end processes including:
    • Investor reporting
    • Cash management
    • Financial reporting
    • Tax reporting
    • Compliance
  • Review and sign-off authority across business-as-usual (BAU) control deliverables
  • Oversight of quarterly valuation processes and NAV calculations across the Private Credit portfolio
  • Support for the setup and launch of new funds
  • Contribution of technical and commercial inputs to ongoing fund and client obligations
  • Leadership of operational projects

Additionally, you will:

  • Drive ongoing effectiveness, enhancement, and introduction of new end-to-end processes and controls
  • Collaborate with digital colleagues to implement innovative digital solutions and AI technologies, further increasing operational efficiency, risk management, and the client experience.

Requirements

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • Certified or Chartered Accountant with 10+ years’ post-qualification experience
    • Preferable in alternative asset management
    • Ideally within private credit
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a fund control or fund accounting team
    • Ability to manage team performance, delegate effectively, and develop members
  • Strong technical and commercial knowledge of:
    • Alternative fund structures (e.g., limited partnerships, trusts, and managed accounts)
    • NAV, investor reporting, and capital processes with a proven review and sign-off capability

Essential Skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels (internal and external)
  • Highly organised, diligent, and motivated with the ability to:
    • Work autonomously through complex fund structures and transactions
    • Embrace process improvements and incorporation of automation/digitisation efforts
