Corporate (Private Equity) Associates - 1–5PQE – Elite US Firm
An exceptional opportunity to join the corporate practice of an elite US firm as it expands its Private Equity offerings with five associate roles available across 1–5PQE. This is a fresh and evolving platform, offering the chance to shape it from the ground up—rather than inherit an established one.
The team operates within a well-resourced corporate practice of 12 partners and ~30 associates, benefiting from strong mentor support and a surprisingly lean structure. Associates gain real responsibility early on, progressing faster than typical hierarchies allow.
About the Team
- Corporate & PE hybrid focus: Primarily a corporate M&A generalist team with a strong specialization in private equity—not a pure LBO shop.
- Broad mandate: Handles a wide range of high-value transactions beyond traditional PE, ensuring diverse exposure for associates.
- Meritocratic culture: Progression depends on performance, not PQE level alone.
- Partnership pathway: Uncrowded advancement opportunities, avoiding bottlenecks found at larger firms.
- Direct access & exposure: Partner-led environment with early, hands-on involvement in complex deals.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
