Private Equity Associate – Mid-Market
Location: London, UK
Position Type: Full-Time
Role Overview
We are seeking an ambitious, highly analytical Private Equity Associate to join our growing Mid-Market Investment Team in London.
In this role, you will be deeply involved in every phase of the deal lifecycle—from initial deal sourcing, screening, and commercial due diligence to complex financial modeling, transaction execution, and active portfolio management. You will work closely with senior leadership and management teams to evaluate mid-market buyouts, roll-up strategies, and growth equity investments across core European sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Evaluation & Financial Modeling
- Build and maintain dynamic, complex LBO models, debt capacity analyses, returns waterfalls, and sensitive financial models from scratch.
- Perform detailed financial statement analysis, commercial due diligence, and valuation exercises (DCF, trading comps, precedent transactions).
- Analyze key business drivers, unit economics, market trends, and competitive dynamics for prospective target companies.
Deal Execution & Due Diligence
- Manage commercial, financial, tax, and legal due diligence streams in coordination with external advisors (e.g., Big 4, top-tier legal counsel, strategy consultants).
- Draft high-quality Investment Committee (IC) memos, presentation decks, and executive summaries to articulate investment theses and key risk factors.
- Assist senior team members in structuring transactions, negotiating key deal documentation, and interfacing with debt providers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
