About The Role
Due to the wider remit of the Council's Housing work under the Renters Rights Act, we have a fantastic Private Rented Sector Compliance Officer role available.
This role will provide a proactive compliance and early intervention service within the Private Rented Sector, ensuring that landlords understand and meet their obligations under the Renter's Rights Act and associated housing legislation. The role focuses on resolving non-compliance at the earliest opportunity and preventing avoidable escalation to formal enforcement.
We would love to have a candidate who wants to make a positive difference, to the Private Rented and Social Housing Sectors, and the lives and wellbeing of tenants within North Norfolk.

This post is a fixed term contract to 31st March 2028, though it is hoped to extend the contract, subject to securing funding.
About You
You will need to have significant recent experience in the field of tenancy relations work, in letting and managing rented property or in homeless prevention work. This should include experience of dealing with vulnerable and difficult customers.
You will need to have good interpersonal, communication and customer care skills, as well as being able to prioritise and meet deadlines.
The ability to work well as part of a team as well as on your own is crucial. You will need be well organised and able to work flexibly.
