Are you passionate about helping people access safe, sustainable housing? Do you have experience in housing, lettings, or property management? Woking Borough Council is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Private Sector Housing Lettings Officer to join the successful Let's Rent Housing Team.
📍 Location: Woking, Surrey
💼 Contract: Permanent, Full Time, Flexible Hours
💰 Salary: £29,633 - £34,146 (dependent on experience) plus flexible benefits allowance of up to £1,941 and vehicle allowance of up to £2,683 per annum.
About the Role
Woking Borough Council operates a unique private sector lettings scheme supporting residents who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. In this key role, you'll work closely with landlords, tenants, agents, and partners to secure and manage private rented accommodation, helping transform lives through housing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Procure properties from the private rented sector and bring them onto council access schemes.
- Manage property allocations in line with housing legislation and policy.
- Build strong relationships with landlords and letting agents.
- Conduct property inspections and ensure compliance with required standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service to landlords and tenants.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
- Support continuous improvement of the Let's Rent schemes and services.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in housing management, lettings, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of private sector housing legislation and policy.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality services.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
