Private Sector Housing Manager (P01342)
Salary: up to £58,445 inclusive of outer fringe allowance
Hours: 37 hours per week (hybrid working)
Contract: Permanent
About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive, experienced, and enthusiastic manager to lead our Private Sector Housing Team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and improve housing standards across the borough, ensuring that private sector homes are safe, well managed, and meet the required legal standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Private Sector Housing professionals to ensure that interventions are identified, and timely decisions are made.
- Provide support to the team with complex and complicated cases.
- Deliver a wide range of important services, including private sector housing enforcement, houses in multiple occupation licensing, disabled facilities grants, housing assistance, landlord engagement, and strategic work to improve residents’ home environments.

Requirements
- Experience in working within the Private Sector Housing services or relevant enforcement work.
- Thorough knowledge of all technical, procedural, and legal aspects of the requirements of Private Sector Housing professional practice.
- Ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Willingness to work occasionally out of normal office hours.
Working Conditions
- Hybrid working with the expectation of attending the office at least two days per week, dependent on service requirements.
- Political restricted post.
