Private Shopping Assistant - Fixed Term Contract
Exciting Opportunity: Private Shopping Assistant (6 Month Fixed Term Contract)
Our ambition is for Harrods Private Shopping to be the ultimate luxury shopping and lifestyle destination. The role of the Private Shopping Assistant is to support our team of Private Client Managers (PCM’s), in the delivery of exceptional service to our most loyal clients.
Our Client-facing Private Shopping team are critical to achieving this ambition.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting our team of PCM’s to deliver the absolute highest level of service in each and every interaction.
- Building exceptional relationships with clients.
- Running a seamless service and anticipating client needs, often before they ask.
About the Role
As a Private Shopping Assistant, your responsibilities include:
- Assisting Private Client Managers with servicing clients (during appointments or pre/post-arrangements).
- Making all appointment arrangements, including:
- Room bookings.
- Acting as a runner for size swaps and alternatives.
- Spotting additional client needs.
- Arranging add-on services, which may include:
- Alterations.
- Restaurant bookings.
- Beauty appointments.
- Parking.
- Other in-store services.
- Developing strong relationships with clients through meaningful conversations to build rapport and trust.
- Enabling the gathering and planning of client needs in the absence of a PCM.
- Managing online requests from clients.
- Creating "Suspended Transactions" for our Transaction Assistants to process.
- Investigating quotes for dispatch and delivery (local & international) through in-house specialists.
- Surprising and delighting clients based on their personal preferences.

Requirements
To succeed as a Private Shopping Assistant, you should have:
- Retail industry experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to build long-lasting client relationships.
- Resilience and adaptability to handle pressure.
