About Us
At Robson Laidler, we believe great work happens when talented people are trusted, supported, and given the space to grow. That’s why we’ve built a firm where collaboration is real; development is intentional, and clients see us as more than just accountants – they see us as part of their team.
Role Overview
We’re now looking for a Private Tax Consultant to join us – someone who takes pride in quality work, values strong relationships, is a good communicator and wants to be part of a firm that’s moving forward.
You’ll have a strong private client tax background gained within an accountancy practice, legal practice, or specialist tax team. You’ll have experience in private tax compliance, alongside exposure to advisory work in areas such as trusts, inheritance tax, capital gains tax, estate planning, and succession planning.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
