OUR IMPACT
Private Wealth Management (PWM) secures, develops, and manages relationships with high-net-worth individuals, their families, family offices, and foundations. PWM assists clients with building and preserving their financial wealth by creating and implementing long-term asset allocation within the context of each client’s particular risk tolerance, and by providing access to innovative investment ideas and opportunities. PWM professionals develop customized investment strategies and offer a full array of wealth management products and services, including private banking and trust company services.
Goldman Partner Office Planning
The Goldman Partner Office Planning team (GPOP) works in coordination with private wealth advisors to develop strong relationships with our EMEA and APAC-based Goldman Sachs Partners (our most senior executives at the firm). The primary aim of the group is to deliver a full suite of wealth planning and family office services, including wealth reporting, cash flow management, income tax planning, trust and estate planning, philanthropic giving, concierge services and general administrative support.
YOUR IMPACT
We are looking for a talented individual with UK tax expertise to join the five-person EMEA GPO Planning team, to help deliver a consistent and high-standard Family Office service.
Role includes but is not limited to
- Assist in executing action plans to achieve financial goals (e.g., wealth transfer, income tax, charitable giving)
- Preparing and developing wealth reports and other ad-hoc custom reporting (e.g., share summaries, cash flow, capital gains base cost calculations, balance sheets, estate planning)
- Assist with management of all non-investment related aspects of the client, including, but not limited to estates and trusts, artwork, real estate, financial holdings
- Working with external vendors on tax return preparation by collating tax data
- Collaborating with project managers and a team of engineering professionals to assist in automating current processes and to improve productivity by reducing time spent on manual tasks such as data entry and reviews
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with private wealth advisor teams, Goldman Sachs Engineering, Goldman Sachs Human Capital Management, and other key internal constituencies
- Collaborating with trustees, attorneys, accountants, and other advisors and professional service providers in order to deliver on GS Partners wealth planning objectives

REQUIREMENTS
- The role requires tax knowledge within the context of Private Wealth Management with ideally, a background in assisting high net worth clients from an asset protection, life insurance, trust and estate planning perspective
- UK related technical expertise in tax implications of investment portfolios and estate planning entities
- Experience with executive-level employee benefits and compensation packages including company share schemes
- Skilled in working with unstructured datasets, advanced in Microsoft Excel, data manipulation, and working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
- Experience interfacing with trustees, attorneys, accountants, and other advisors and professional organizations in respect to private clients' wealth planning needs
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a team-oriented environment
- Pro-active, resourceful, self-starter, attentive to detail, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Experience presenting to internal and external audiences
- Commitment to excellence and a high level of integrity
- Ability to work and think clearly under pressure
- Deep interest in the financial markets and good investment sense/commercial instinct

- Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) or
- Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) or
- IFA qualification
