PWM’s Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) collaborate closely with clients to design and implement tailored strategies rooted in deep investment expertise, a broad wealth management capability, and a global network.
PWM offers a full spectrum of services, including:
- Tax and estate planning

The Portfolio Management Group (PMG) is a multi-asset class investing unit within PWM. PMG focuses on discretionary portfolio management across traditional and alternative asset classes, offering Outsourced CIO services to private clients and institutions, integrating the strategic and tactical asset allocation framework of Investment Strategy Group (ISG).
YOUR IMPACT
As a Portfolio Manager, Multi-Asset Investing, you will shape the future of private wealth solutions by advancing evidence-based, client-centric portfolio strategies. This role leans on quantitative analysis and analytical judgment to drive portfolio construction, performance monitoring, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Strategy & Execution
- Design, construct, and oversee multi-asset portfolios aligned with PMG’s investment philosophy, client guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring and adapting portfolios using advanced analytical techniques in asset allocation, manager selection, and portfolio research innovation.

Bespoke Solutions & Client Engagement
- Develop customised client portfolios through:
- Portfolio optimisation
- Manager/vehicle selection and due diligence
- Quantitative research on investment products across asset classes.
- Collaborate with the Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) to propose rigorous multi-asset class solutions, effectively synthesising research and analytics.

- Develop the portfolio construction and risk allocation framework for efficient investment processes, leveraging:
- Quant tools (e.g., Python-based analytics)
- Factor-based modelling
- Systematic portfolio techniques.
- Conduct asset allocation research to refine positioning and support the continual evolution of manager selection frameworks.

Collaborative Cross-Functional Work
- Work closely with Goldman Sachs experts, including:
- Investment Strategy Group (ISG) – reviewing asset allocations.
- External Investing Group – selecting and reviewing investment managers.

- Build and maintain Python-based models and quantitative tools for:
- Risk/return analytics
- Risk decomposition & decomposition analysis
- Scenario and investment research workflows.

- Drive client engagements by presenting:
- Investment analyses
- Strategy proposals
- Responses to client Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

Key Requirement: Expected to assume core portfolio management responsibilities within months of joining the team.
Requirements
- ** qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in portfolio management, quantitative research, or multi-asset investing.
- Preferred regional qualifications (CISI Level 4 – London or equivalent IMC & CFA Level 1).
- Technical Proficiency
- Strong grasp of quantitative analysis, asset allocation theory, and portfolio construction.
- Proficiency in Python (familiarity with Pandas, NumPy, SciPy).
- Experience with portfolio optimisation and manager selection, including quantitative evaluation of investment strategies in traditional and alternative asset classes.
- Comfortable using financial platforms like Bloomberg, Refinitiv/Datastream, or Morningstar Direct.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Excel, PowerPoint).
