Goldman Sachs: Investment Strategy Group – Asset & Wealth Management

OUR IMPACT

Private Wealth Management (PWM) secures, develops, and manages relationships with high net worth individuals, their families, family offices, and foundations. PWM assists clients in:

  • Building and preserving their financial wealth through long-term asset allocation
  • Tailoring strategies to each client’s risk tolerance
  • Providing access to innovative investment ideas and opportunities
  • Offering a full range of wealth management products (including private banking, trust company, and familyOffice solutions)

YOUR IMPACT

The Investment Strategy Group (ISG), within Goldman Sachs’ Asset & Wealth Management Division, delivers customized asset allocation solutions to preserve and grow client wealth.

Key Responsibilities

You will collaborate across the team to:

  • Develop and implement customized asset allocation models for clients using the ISG framework
  • Generate custom research reports and tailored presentations for client engagement
  • Support team research into:
    • Asset allocation strategies
    • Individual asset classes
    • Emerging financial trends
  • Serve as a trusted asset allocation advisor to the Private Wealth Management team
  • Maintain operational best practices, such as:
    • Updating data records
    • Organising portfolio materials
    • Managing meeting notes and presentation decks

Requirements

Academic & Quantitative Background

  • Master’s degree in Finance with a quantitative focus (e.g., financial mathematics, quantitative finance, financial engineering, financial econometrics)
  • Undergraduate degree in STEM or quantitatively rigorous fields (Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Machine Learning, or Computer Science).
    • Acceptable alternative: Economics degree paired with a quantitative post-graduate Finance qualification

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Proficiency in Python preferred; familiarity with other programming languages an asset
  • Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills (visualisation, taxation, data handling)
  • Solid grasp of current academic research and industry best practices
  • Foreign language skills (European languages advantageous)
  • Ability to ** translates complex quantitative concepts** into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders

  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking in fast-paced environments with high ambiguity
