Probate Property Team Leader
£38,000 to £45,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6A)
Full time, 37.5 hours
Bristol / Stratford-upon-Avon – you’ll work from one of our offices 3 days a week, with 2 days working from home (find out more about our hybrid working policy at jobs.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).
About the Role
We’re looking for a Property Team Leader to join our Probate Operations team at Co-op Legal Services.
In this role you’ll coach, mentor, and develop your team to deliver quality property service, strong case progression and great client service. You won’t need to source your own work or bring a following of clients with you. And you’ll be joining a fast growing, innovative legal business where we use technology to respond to the changing needs of our clients.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, develop and motivate your team to deliver performance targets
- Take responsibility for all line management duties for your team
- Drive and improve the quality of all property work carried out within the team, providing legal and technical audit support to case managers.
- Champion a client focused approach and the delivery of outstanding service
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and help to positively implement change in the team and the wider department

- Working knowledge of Land Law, Land Registration and the Conveyancing process, and a knowledge of Trusts and Equity and the Land Registration rules relating to equitable interests for both registered and unregistered property
- The technical knowledge and ability to title check freehold, leasehold, registered and unregistered properties, and arrange registration of various dispositions, first registrations adverse possession claims
- Excellent property knowledge, specifically exposure to Assents, with the ability to understand legal issues and resolve them.
- The ability to support, mentor and develop colleagues to improve their performance
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use management information (MI) effectively
- Excellent time management skills, to manage a caseload of files alongside additional technical and managerial responsibilities
