Salary: £38,000 to £45,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6A) Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Location: Hybrid – 3 days in one of our offices (Bristol / Stratford-upon-Avon) + 2 days working from home. Learn more about our hybrid working policy here.
About the Role
We’re seeking a Probate Property Team Leader to join our Probate Operations team at Co-op Legal Services.
In this role, you’ll:
- Coach, mentor, and develop your team to deliver high-quality property services, efficient case progression, and outstanding client care.
- Focus on team leadership and management without needing to secure your own workload or client base.
- Join a fast-growing, innovative legal business leveraging technology to meet evolving client needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and motivate your team to achieve performance targets
- Take full responsibility for all line management duties
- Drive and improve the quality of property work, providing legal and technical audit support to case managers
- Champion a client-focused approach and ensure exceptional service delivery
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and champion positive change within your team and across the wider department

Requirements
To succeed, you’ll bring:
- A working knowledge of:
- Land Law
- Land Registration
- Conveyancing processes
- Trusts and Equity, including Land Registration rules for equitable interests in both registered and unregistered properties
- Technical expertise to:
- Title-check freehold, leasehold, and other types of property (registered/unregistered)
- Arrange registration of dispositions, first registrations, and adverse possession claims
- Deep property knowledge, especially Assents, and the ability to:
- Identify and resolve legal issues effectively
- Strong mentoring and development skills to support and improve team performance
- Analytical strengths with the ability to use management information (MI) effectively
- Excellent time management to balance a caseload, technical responsibilities, and managerial duties
