Role Description
The Probate Solicitor will manage a caseload of probate matters, including estate administration, drafting wills, advising on trusts, and handling powers of attorney. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting clients, taking detailed instructions, providing clear legal advice, preparing and reviewing legal documents, and liaising with external parties such as banks, financial advisors, and the Probate Registry. The role also involves working closely with colleagues in related practice areas, contributing to the development of client relationships, and supporting the firm’s standards of client care and compliance. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cheadle,

Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in Law, with a focus on Wills, Probate, Trusts, and Powers of Attorney.
- Awareness of Family Law issues, including relationship breakdown, where these impact estate planning and probate matters.
- Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent legal qualification) with relevant post-qualification experience in private client or probate work.
- Excellent client-care skills, including clear communication, empathy, and the ability to explain complex issues in accessible language.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload independently, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a busy on-site environment.
- Proficiency with legal case management systems and standard office software; willingness to learn firm-specific processes.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and ongoing legal and regulatory learning.
- You will manage your own caseload while working closely with the current Head of Department to ensure a smooth succession plan.
