Probate Solicitor - Specialist Legal Firm - Kent, ME7 - Competitive Salary + Bonus Scheme
We’re on the hunt for an experienced and ambitious Probate Solicitor to join a successful legal firm in Kent.
Managing your own caseload, you will build strong client relationships and deliver a high standard of client care whilst advising and supporting clients throughout their probate matters.
Joining a firm of highly qualified solicitors, you will be office-based Monday to Friday, working 9am - 5pm, so this is an ideal role if you are looking to leave the London rat-race or seeking a new position closer to home.
This is a great opportunity for a lawyer with c3+ years’ PQE who is keen to build a thriving desk and genuinely reap the rewards of their work, with an opportunity to build and shape the department and progress to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied and high-quality caseload of probate matters, including will disputes and challenges, Inheritance Act claims, executor/beneficiary disputes and estate administration
- Advising on wills, powers of attorney, trust litigation and related private client matters
- Supporting clients through complex and often sensitive disputes
- Reviewing documentation and evidence
- Drafting legal correspondence and documentation
- Liaising extensively with clients, beneficiaries, executors, financial institutions, HMRC and the Probate Registry
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Managing files from instruction through to conclusion
- Maintaining accurate time recording and billing
- Building and developing own client base, supported by the firm’s strong reputation and existing referral network
- Actively participating in firm-wide business development and networking activities

- c3+ years’ PQE managing your own probate caseloads
- Knowledge of probate litigation and dispute resolution
- Ability to manage a varied caseload
- Demonstrable UK legal knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience using case management systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional nature
