Do you have exceptional customer service skills and are you looking for a role where you can really demonstrate them? At Sopra Steria, within our Transformative Business Services (TBS) team, we’re looking for Administrators to support our busy recruitment function working with high-profile Government clients. You’ll play a key part in delivering a smooth, professional experience for candidates and stakeholders, while building strong relationships and keeping things running efficiently behind the scenes.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract and follows a hybrid working model. You will be based in our Newport office two days per week, on Monday and Tuesday, with the remaining days worked from home.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing high-volume recruitment activity in a fast-paced environment, supporting candidates through processes such as online testing, allocations, medical fitness checks and interview scheduling.
  • Supporting recruitment campaigns by communicating with successful candidates about start dates, training arrangements and next steps.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for candidates and stakeholders, handling inbound queries by phone and email in a professional and helpful way.
  • Processing work in line with agreed procedures, business rules and scripts, meeting defined quality standards.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on databases and manual systems to support audit requirements.
  • Planning and prioritising your workload to ensure deadlines are met, escalating queries where appropriate and identifying opportunities to improve processes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
