Process Engineer Chippenham £24.00 - £27.00 per hour 6 Month Contract 37 Hours per Week We are recruiting for a Process Engineer on behalf of a leading advanced manufacturing business based in Chippenham. Operating within a highly regulated, complex manufacturing environment, this role will support the development, implementation and optimisation of manufacturing processes across electrical, electronic, mechatronic and mechanical product lines. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer who enjoys improving manufacturing efficiency, introducing robust production processes and working closely with production, engineering and quality teams to support business growth and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Develop, document and implement manufacturing processes for new and existing products. Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions, process documentation and standard operating procedures. Analyse existing production methods and identify opportunities for improvement in quality, efficiency, cost and throughput. Work closely with Design, Manufacturing, Quality and Production teams to ensure processes are capable, repeatable and robust. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring manufacturing processes are developed and validated effectively. Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing issues. Lead continuous improvement activities using structured problem-solving techniques. Define tooling, fixtures, equipment and manufacturing methods required to support production. Support process validation and process capability studies. Ensure manufacturing processes comply with quality, safety and regulatory requirements. Assist with the introduction and optimisation of manufacturing systems and digital tools. Candidate Requirements Previous experience in a Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or Production Engineer position within a complex manufacturing environment. Background in electrical, electronics, mechatronics or mechanical manufacturing. Proven ability to create, document and implement manufacturing processes. Experience writing manufacturing instructions, process flows and production documentation. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles. Ability to analyse production challenges and implement practical solutions. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Comfortable working across multiple departments and disciplines. Desirable Skills Knowledge or experience of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI). Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems. Understanding of process validation techniques and statistical process control. Experience within highly regulated or high-technology manufacturing environments.
