The role: We are looking for a Process Engineer – Automated Welding to develop, optimise and maintain semi‑automated and automated welding processes within a high‑quality manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in ensuring robust, capable welding processes that meet quality, safety and regulatory standards, while supporting production and new product introduction (NPI).

Key responsibilities: Develop, validate and optimise automated and semi‑automated welding processes Define and control critical welding parameters to ensure repeatable, high‑quality welds Create and maintain Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), PQRs and work instructions Ensure compliance with relevant standards (ISO 15614, ISO 3834, ASME and customer requirements) Provide technical support to resolve weld quality issues and lead root cause analysis Support specification, commissioning and validation of automated welding equipment Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean / Six Sigma principles Work cross‑functionally with Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain and Maintenance Provide training and technical guidance to operators and technicians Your experience: Proven experience working with automated or robotic welding systems (orbital welding desirable) Strong understanding of welding principles and metallurgy Experience supporting production and NPI in a manufacturing environment Knowledge of weld inspection methods and quality systems Experience working with engineering drawings, weld symbols and specifications Your skills: Structured and analytical problem‑solving approach High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality Effective communicator, able to influence across teams Proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement Ability to adapt, learn new technologies and support others through training #Li-onsite The Steam Thermal Solutions business is one of three businesses within Spirax Group.
