New Job Opportunity - Process Engineer - 12 Month PAYE Contract - Based in Aberdeen

Contract: 12 Months PAYE
Rate: Negotiable
Hybrid: 3 days office, 2 days home

Purpose of the Role

The primary purpose of this position is to provide process engineering support to UK operations, ensuring equipment integrity, reliability, and operational efficiency.

The role supports operational breakdowns, delivers maintenance plans in accordance with maintenance strategies, contributes to plant optimisation initiatives, and provides engineering input to modifications and projects as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements, legislation, and Our Clients HSES procedures.
  • Support SECE degradation and threat management risk assessments, as well as maintenance deferment risk assessments.
  • Monitor equipment and system performance, identifying issues and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  • Provide process engineering and maintenance support to UK operations.
  • Assess and develop engineering work scopes to deliver process safety, environmental, reliability, and production improvements.
  • Develop and review detailed calculations, process engineering datasheets, process simulation models, and engineering drawings.
  • Assist with process safety reviews, including HAZOP and LOPA studies, and support the close-out of resulting actions.
  • Provide technical support to offshore operations teams when required.
  • Challenge and review the technical content, engineering performance, and cost-effectiveness of modification projects.
  • Review vendor work packs to ensure compliance with performance standard requirements.
  • Raise Technical Work Modifications (TWMs) where complex technical solutions or modifications are required.
  • Support the Management of Change (MOC) process for non-like-for-like modifications.
  • Participate in Research and Development initiatives as required.
  • Mobilise offshore when required to support business operations.
  • Participate in the emergency response rota if the role requires it.

Ethics & Compliance

  • Conduct all activities in accordance with Our Clients Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures.
  • Complete all mandatory compliance training within the required timescales.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Essential / Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline or equivalent qualification (e.g., HND/HNC combined with relevant experience, vocational qualifications, or certifications).
  • Membership of a relevant professional engineering institution, with progression towards Chartered status preferred.

Experience

  • Operational and engineering experience within the energy or process industries preferred.
  • Offshore experience.
  • Developing technical expertise in process engineering and asset support.
  • Experience supporting safety, reliability, maintenance, and production improvement initiatives.

  • Understanding of processes required to achieve HSE objectives.
  • Good knowledge of the UK regulatory environment.
  • Developing understanding of Our Clients budgeting, maintenance management, project management processes, and associated tools.
  • Awareness of Our Clients HSEQ Policies and Business Management System (BMS).
  • Awareness of Our Clients Values and Business Principles.
