Process Improvement Engineer – Global (Droitwich)
Reports to: Director – Project Engineering Group Position: Permanent – Onsite

As a Process Improvement Engineer, you will help drive growth for the Systems business through Droitwich, shaping and refining critical procedures to support scalability. Your role will focus on transforming the engineering, project management, and project delivery functions to enhance efficiency, quality, predictability, and scalability across the offsite-manufactured HVAC and M&E solutions lifecycle.
The Purpose
The Process Improvement Engineer is responsible for leading industry-wide process enhancements—optimising workflows from concept and design through procurement, manufacturing, testing, installation, and commissioning. Your impact will ensure projects are delivered:
- Safely

You’ll act as the bridge between Engineering, Project Management, Commercial, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Commissioning teams, ensuring lessons learned are systematically captured and embedded.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery Process Improvement
- Analyse and refine end-to-end project delivery workflows.
- Develop standardised project execution methodologies for all projects.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and risks in project delivery.
- Improve programme predictability, schedule adherence, and resource allocation.
- Establish best-practice project management standards and governance frameworks.
- Support the creation of project delivery playbooks and stage-gate processes.
Engineering Process Improvement
- Review and optimise engineering workflows, including:
- Concept design
- Detailed design
- Design approvals
- Technical submittals
- Change management
- Drawing production
- Release to manufacturing
- Drive standardisation and automation to boost engineering productivity.
- Develop and maintain engineering design standards and templates.
- Support the adoption of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
- Reduce design-related defects and rework.
Project Controls & Performance
- Develop project performance metrics and dashboards for visibility.
- Monitor and enhance:
- Engineering lead times
- Design release performance
- Schedule adherence
- Cost efficiency
- Change management effectiveness
- Risk management maturity
- Support forecasting and capacity planning initiatives.

Change Management & Governance
- Lead project governance and control process improvements.
- Standardise project documentation, reporting, and approval procedures.
- Strengthen management of:
- Variations
- Technical queries
- Design changes
- Client approvals
- Lessons learned
- Ensure embedded change control processes throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Digitalisation & Systems Improvement
- Identify digitalisation opportunities to streamline project delivery.
- Support integration of:
- ERP systems
- Project management platforms
- Document management systems
- Resource planning tools
- Improve data quality and reporting across functions.
Continuous Improvement
- Facilitate Lean and Continuous Improvement workshops.
- Drive root cause analyses for recurring project/engineering issues.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement within teams.
- Maintain an improvement register and track benefits realisation.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with:

Requirements
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in project management, programme management, operational excellence, or engineering process improvement.
- Direct experience with HVAC, M&E, building services, modular construction, or industrial engineering projects.
- Track record of performance-driven process improvements.
- Success managing cross-functional improvement initiatives.

Desirable Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Certifications such as:
- APM PMQ
- PRINCE2 Practitioner
- PMP
- Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt).
Preferred Industry Experience
- Work with data centres, cooling/HVAC systems, modular M&E solutions, energy centres, or industrial manufacturing.
