Process Operator
£31,820.99 per annum
12 hours shifts, 4 on 4 off, days and nights
South Kirkby, Wakefield
As a Process Operator, you will be responsible for supporting the day to day operation of the RWTF operation and for ensuring that the facility is kept clean and tidy at all times. You will manage health and safety in your immediate area as well as take responsibility for housekeeping by cleaning the surrounding area, completing daily logs and reporting any defects to your Shift Team Leader.
Your key responsibilities:
- Assisting in the safe and efficient operation of the Residual Waste Treatment Facility by performing routine checks, monitoring equipment and cleaning
- Take samples and complete basic quality checks
- Complete training on Forklift Truck / Materials Handling Equipment if required
- Supporting the Shift Team Leader in completing their duties
- Work in accordance with SHEQ policies, including the reporting of safety concerns & incidents
- Close working relationship with Operations Management Team
- Identify or support continuous improvement projects
- Ensure the highest level of housekeeping is maintained
- Daily cleaning of machinery within the Facility and providing light maintenance of equipment

Essential criteria for this role:
- Good understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance
- Strong people skills; be able to communicate at all levels throughout the company and externally
- Flexibility to work across all of the residual waste plant and other areas of the site as required
- A proactive approach to work
- Good organisational skills
