Process SME - UK, Manchester - 12 Month Contract
Our client, a global organisation within the pharmaceutical industry, needs a Process SME to join their large-scale CAPEX project based near Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional in the life sciences sector to advance their career within a globally recognised pharmaceutical environment.
What You’ll Do
- Understand the business objectives, project scope, schedule, and critical success factors.
- Understand and engage all project stakeholders relevant to the SME role.
- Participate in the capital project team during basic and detailed design phases, including involvement in equipment procurement.
- Assess equipment needs and support the creation of equipment URS and technical specifications for design or purchase.
- Understand your full project remit, including scope of work and interfaces with other SMEs and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure all requirements are clearly documented and agreed upon with project stakeholders.

What you’ll need:
- Experience with small molecule API or Peptides
- Extensive relevant capital project experience, with strong technical and execution exposure on major capital investments—ideally within the pharmaceutical or biotech sector.
- Able to set the technical direction and have overall accountability for the entire scope of work from initial concept through to successful operation
- Strong track record collaborating with design contractors and equipment suppliers on large-scale, complex projects, ensuring alignment, quality, and timely delivery across multidisciplinary teams.
