Hexcel is currently seeking a Process Specialist for our Duxford, UK location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

Monitor daily production performance for the assigned manufacturing area and present key metrics to management. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively to maintain safe and efficient operations. Analyse process data to identify optimisation opportunities and lead projects implementing long‑term root‑cause engineering solutions. Develop robust methods to address process variability, ensuring permanent corrective actions and proper documentation. Drive process improvement initiatives to reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, and enhance safety performance. Support the introduction of new products into production, ensuring process optimisation and readiness for full-scale manufacture. Prepare and maintain standard data manuals, BOMs, and routing data to support accurate scheduling, costing, and manufacturing standards. Prepare operating instructions, lead training activities, and support operator development to ensure consistent process execution. Lead or support key engineering governance activities such as risk assessments, HAZOP, LOPA, PUWER, DSEAR, FMEA, and Six Sigma/Lean projects. Collaborate with other Hexcel sites, suppliers, and customers to align best practices, support problem solving, and optimise processes globally

Qualifications:

Strong technical background enabling understanding of both manufacturing processes and equipment. Ideally a technical degree with experience in a relevant manufacturing environment. Proven experience applying risk and hazard assessment tools such as FMEA and HAZOP. Demonstrated problem‑solving capability within a manufacturing or process‑driven environment. Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma and Lean tools. Strong data‑analysis skills and the ability to make data‑driven decisions to improve processes. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for interacting with technical teams, production, management, suppliers, and customers. Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and statistical analysis software. Ability to make informed, on-the-spot decisions regarding plant processes, safety concerns, and production continuation. Experience generating and maintaining Bills of Materials, routing data, and cost information for manufactured products.
