Process Technician (Chemical Manufacture)
Hands-on production. Real equipment. Materials that can help decarbonise the world.
Why this role exists
Promethean Particles is scaling the production of a new class of materials - metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) - that can play an important role in more energy-efficient carbon capture.
This means real manufacturing work, not theoretical development:
- Full-scale and pilot-scale reactor systems
- Chemical processing and post-processing equipment
- Pumps, pipework, filter presses, and ovens
- Safety-critical procedures and quality standards
- Products being manufactured for real-world use
We’re looking for a Process Technician who enjoys practical, hands-on manufacturing and wants to be part of a growing production team working on technology with genuine environmental impact.
This role is a 9-5 role, not shift work.
Who this role is best suited to
This role is ideal for someone who has worked in a batch manufacturing, production, processing, or industrial environment and enjoys doing things properly.
You don’t need to have worked with nanomaterials before. What matters is that you are practical, reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable following processes carefully while working as part of a team.
You’re likely to be a strong fit if you:
- Have experience in batch manufacturing, production, processing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and drink, brewing, distilling, or a similar environment
- Enjoy hands-on work with equipment and physical processes
- Take pride in accuracy, cleanliness, and doing the job properly
- Understand the importance of safety, PPE, procedures, and good record-keeping
- Communicate clearly and work well with others
- Want to build your skills in a growing advanced materials business
What you’ll actually be doing
You’ll join Promethean’s Production and Engineering team, helping manufacture high-specification nanomaterials using pilot-scale and full-scale reactor systems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
