Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to provide practical, operational, and technical support for environmental consultancy projects across commercial, industrial, municipal wastewater, and sludge processing.
You will contribute to a variety of consultancy project types, including:
- Flow and load survey
- Headroom assessments
- Technology optioneering
- Feasibility and pilot studies
- Process design
- Process commissioning
- Process optimisation
- Root cause analysis (RCA) and troubleshooting

Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone passionate about providing practical solutions to environmental improvement, with a keen interest in operating ETPs (Effluent Treatment Plants) and collaborating in a diverse team.
This role is perfect for those eager to gain hands-on experience across project types that involve:
- Lab, field, and office-based work
- Sample collection and analysis
- Interpretation of environmental data
Candidates must be willing to travel across the UK, with some projects requiring short-term on-site presence. While the role is primarily field/lab-based, there will be opportunities to develop skills through:
- Desk-based learning
- Mentoring
- On-the-job training
Each candidate will receive a tailored professional development plan, reviewed regularly with the company’s Technical Director to set and track progress.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Practical experience working on wastewater and ETP sites
- Theoretical knowledge in water/wastewater processes
- Excellent laboratory skills
- Field experience in sample collection and use of sampling machines/flow meters
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate between teams and report to your line manager
- Willingness to work outdoors, including wastewater sample collection and analysis
- A full, clean UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential)
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Baseline understanding of wastewater and sludge treatment processes
- Practical experience working on industrial or water utility sites
- Awareness of Health and Safety (H&S) requirements, including:
- Risk assessments (RAMS)
- Permits and inductions
- Interest in and awareness of environmental issues
