Process Technician

Process Technician (12-Month Contract) – Roche

The Position

We are currently looking for two Process Technicians to join our Process Engineering team on a 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension. Both positions involve the same core responsibilities:

  • 70% time based at Athena Motherwell
  • One additional role may require Dumyat location workflows.

The Opportunity

As a Process Technician, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with the sensor manufacture and packaging teams, mastering all aspects of manufacturing (line operation, packaging processes, procedures).
  • Diagnose product & process issues logically, ensure highest levels of quality & productivity.
  • Analyze manufacturing data, conduct CTQ (Critical to Quality) testing.
  • Support process excellence initiatives by updating standard operating procedures, work instructions, and bills of material.

Responsibilities

Technical:

  • Work alongside manufacturing engineers to excel in sensor manufacture line operations.
  • Support statistical monitoring of product & process data.
  • Troubleshoot problems efficiently and methodically, reporting progress clearly.
  • Conduct CTQ testing & material/product analysis, investigating non-conformances and developing preventative measures (OCAP’s).
  • Support NPD (New Product Development) transfer from pilot to high-volume production.
  • Collaborate on validation activities and documentation in accordance with business needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement through engagement with shift teams.
  • Lead/support change controls in manufacturing documentation to ensure compliance.

Who You Are

Essential Education & Qualifications:

  • Process Excellence Yellow or Green Belt certification (advantageous).
  • Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience (preferred).
  • Experience in rotary converting or reel-to-reel printing (e.g., rotary screen/flexographic) (advantageous).
  • Statistical analysis methods knowledge required.

Core Requirements & Skills:

  • GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) experience.
  • Hands-on Process Technician with industry experience (preferably medical device).
  • Experience in process optimization.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Team player with accountability for manufacturing challenges.
  • Ability to analyze production data & verify CTQs.
  • Problem-solving & urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, ensuring quality & productivity daily.
  • Statistical analysis methods knowledge.
