Seloxium has an R&D and back office site in Oxford, UK, and pilot-plant and scale-up operations in the North East of England.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Process Technician
to join our Thermal Operations team based in Redcar, Teesside, UK. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of thermal and related equipment within our pilot plant facilities. You will play an essential part in ensuring smooth process flow, safety compliance, and continuous improvement of our innovative processes.

This is an on-site role based in the Redcar area at The Materials Processing Institute and The Wilton Centre.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor thermal processing equipment in accordance with defined procedures and safety protocols
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on process equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Collect, record, and report process data accurately to enable performance analysis and troubleshooting
- Assist in troubleshooting operational issues and implement corrective actions promptly
- Work collaboratively with engineers and chemists, and technicians teams to support pilot plant operations and process development
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment adhering to company health and safety policies
- Support the implementation of process improvements and efficiency initiatives
- Assist with training and mentorship of technicians as required

Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Chemical Engineering, Process Technology, or related technical field
- Previous experience working in process operation roles, preferably within thermal operations or pilot plant environments
- Basic understanding of thermal processes and equipment operation
- Competent in following safe working procedures and health and safety regulations
- Proficient in recording operational data and using relevant software tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Good communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams
- Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to operational needs
Desirable:
- Experience working in thermal technology, mining, or chemical processing industries
- Knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems
- Hands-on experience with pilot plant operations and maintenance
