Job Title: Process Engineer – Amazon Logistics (UK-Based)

About the Role
The European Amazon Logistics team is seeking a customer-obsessed Process Engineer with hands-on experience to drive standardization and technology integration across Delivery Stations, proposing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency in the operations.
In this role at Amazon Logistics Engineering – EU Team, you will:
- Design new Delivery Stations and lead process optimization initiatives for legacy sites.
- Focus on improving safety, customer experience, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Act as a key technical contact for site-specific decisions, closely collaborating with:
- Local Operations teams,
- Amazon’s design & construction partners,
- Safety & expansion project stakeholders.
This position requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional leadership, and a data-driven approach to problem-solving, blending process design intuition with innovation. You will report to the Manager of Design Engineering in the supported EU market, with domestic travel (up to 25% globally) required.
Location: UK-based, nationally deployed.
Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering & Architecture
- Lead new site designs—from feasibility and planning to implementation—with a focus on automation.
- Design conveyor layouts, material flows, and infrastructure solutions meeting process requirements.
- Address real estate and workflow constraints in new and legacy sites, defining equipment requirements.
- Standardise EU-wide operations by sharing best practices across geographical teams.

Engineering Product Ownership
- Own tech integration projects across Delivery Stations, including automation and automation enablement.
- Drive standardised layouts for new and upgraded sites—feasibility through delivery.
- Represent engineer process design decisions, ensuring alignment with network standards and scalability.
Continuous Improvement & Strategic Projects
- Implement Six Sigma/Lean principles into operations, including day-to-day process wiki upkeep.
- Influence operations through stakeholder engagement (national and EU levels).
- Propose and pilot innovation projects to drive operational excellence.
A Day in the Life
As a Process Engineer at Amazon Logistics (EU), you’ll partner with cross-functional teams—including Operations, Construction, Launch & Expansion, and Safety—to:
- Redesign and validate layouts for new stations, optimizing existing flows for efficiency.
- Lead automation integrations, adopting cutting-edge technologies.
- Propose and champion innovations addressing critical facility and workflow challenges.
- Delete acceptance for design changes and write requirements documents.
- Streamline hand-offs across stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.

Basic Qualifications
To be considered, you must meet these core requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) in engineering, supply chain, operations, analytics, or a related field.
- Strong experience in:
- Process/industrial engineering, logistics fulfilment, supply chain operations, or warehouse management.
- Project/capacity planning and impact analysis.
- Maintenance workflows—auditing via CMMS tools (e.g., Maximo, iflix, SAP SEPM).
- Lean methodologies, including Six Sigma (BS/JH/TF/BQ/IY). Note: Professional certifications considered a plus (if not yet required).
- Developing standard operation procedures and shared best practices.
- Cambridge SILVERENAC (test weekend coding challenge): Application to include a sampling of your work.

Preferred Qualifications
This position would also benefit from familiarity with:
- CAD tools: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, VBA, or SQL.
- Data analysis: Advanced Excel, custom macros, databases (MS SQL Server preferred).
- Industrial software: SketchUp, Rhino, Revit, or 3D modelling (KeyShot), boilerplate.
- Vendor management—supporting negotiation of domestic freight rites.
- Optimisation: Experience using Operations Research techniques (e.g., linear programming (LP), integer programming (MILP), or simulation).
- Academic: MS/MBA in a supply chain, operations, or engineering discipline.
