Processing Operative (Day Shift, Newton Abbot, UK)
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Processing Operative to work Monday to Friday, Day Shift only (6am – 2pm or 2pm – 10pm).
- Job Location: Newton Abbot, United Kingdom
- Role: Processing Operative
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, rotating shifts between 06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00
- Salary: £27,573.14/year (+ £1,918.80 annual shift allowance)
- Type: Full-time Permanent position
Role Responsibilities
Your day will involve:
- Operating shredding, blending, and milling machines safely
- Running a front-end loader for most of the shift while performing daily equipment checks
- Conducting pre-shift inspections and controlling mobile plant (training provided)
- Completing first-level maintenance and reporting potential defects
- Maintaining high housekeeping standards
- Ensuring production targets are met and product quality is maintained
- Adhering to strict HSE (Health, Safety, Environmental) protocols and prompt incident reporting
- Supporting continuous improvement efforts across the site

About You
We are looking for an industrial hands-on operative with:
- A valid forklift (FLT) license (training provided if required)
- An active driving license
- Strong numeracy, literacy, and IT skills
- A solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental protocols
- Industrial experience preferred
- Safety-first mindset and excellent communication skills
You thrive independently, take ownership of production responsibilities, and contribute to a safe and efficient work environment.
