Procurement and Contract Coordinator
Full time (37 hours per week) and Temporary for 12 months
Salary will be £30,404- £34,520 per annum
Expected date of interviews - Week commencing Monday 17th August 2026
We are looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused Procurement and Contract Coordinator to support the delivery of effective procurement and contract management arrangements at Bron Afon.
This is an important role within our Resources Directorate, helping to ensure that our contracts are well governed, accurately recorded, effectively managed and compliant with organisational requirements and the Procurement Act 2023.
You will work closely with contract managers, service leads, governance colleagues and suppliers to strengthen contract management practice, improve visibility of contractual commitments and support value for money.

About the role
As Procurement and Contract Coordinator, you will provide day-to-day coordination and administration for procurement and contract management activity. You will support key operational contracts, maintain accurate contract records, help monitor supplier performance and contribute to the development of clear processes, templates and guidance.
You will also support the implementation and ongoing administration of contract management systems, including data quality, reporting, process alignment and user support. The role will involve working with colleagues across the organisation to improve consistency, strengthen controls and support better contract management outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
- Acting as a first point of contact for routine procurement and contract management queries.
- Supporting the coordination and administration of designated contracts, including maintaining key dates, milestones, obligations and records.
- Helping to monitor contractor performance against agreed KPIs, service standards and contract requirements.
- Maintaining and improving a central contracts register so that information is complete, accessible and reliable.
- Supporting procurement and contract management systems, reporting and data quality.
- Coordinating meetings, actions, guidance, training materials and document control.
- Working with colleagues and suppliers to identify risks, follow up actions and support continuous improvement.
About you
We are looking for someone with experience of supporting procurement, contract management, supplier performance or related administrative activity in a regulated, public sector or similarly governed environment. You will be confident maintaining accurate records, coordinating actions and using information to support effective reporting and decision-making.

You will have strong organisational skills, good attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. You will be comfortable working with digital systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly spreadsheets, document management and reporting tools. An understanding of contract management principles, performance monitoring and public procurement requirements, including awareness of the Procurement Act 2023, would be beneficial.
You will be a collaborative team player with good written and verbal communication skills, able to build positive relationships with colleagues, contract managers, budget holders and suppliers. You will bring a proactive, improvement-focused approach and a commitment to compliance, good governance, value for money and high standards of customer service.
Do you have
- A relevant procurement, contract management, business administration or related qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience of supporting procurement, contract management, supplier performance or management information activity.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, including the ability to produce clear guidance, reports and process documents.

Person Specification
Qualifications, knowledge and understanding
- Relevant Procurement, Contract Management, Business Administration or related discipline qualification.
- CIPFA Level 4 or equivalent.
- Good general standard of education, including English and Maths.
Experience and Knowledge
- Understanding of the social housing sector and the context in which registered social landlords operate.
- Good understanding of statutory and operational requirements relating to the Social Housing Sector in Wales.
- Experience of supporting procurement, contract management or supplier performance activity in a public sector, regulated or similarly governed environment.
- Experience of maintaining accurate contract records, registers or management information.
- Experience of coordinating meetings, actions, reports, guidance documents or training materials.
- Understanding of contract management principles, performance monitoring and the use of KPIs to assess supplier delivery.
- Working knowledge of public procurement requirements and good practice, ideally including awareness of the Procurement Act 2023 and its implications for contract management and transparency.
- Experience of using systems for procurement, contract management or data/reporting would be advantageous.
- Experience within housing, property, repairs, asset management, local government or a similar sector would be desirable.
- A proactive and improvement-focused approach, with the confidence to challenge poor practice and support better ways of working.
- Commitment to compliance, governance, value for money and high standards of customer service.

Work4 pilot
We are currently running pilot of working a 4-day week (4DW). This is extended until end of October 2026. The pilot will then be reviewed by our board, before making a decision to extend or be made permanent.
