ALF Recruit is delighted to be retained exclusively by a fast-growing, PE-backed market leader on the outskirts of Rochdale to recruit a Procurement Manager into a genuinely pivotal role within the business.

This is a standout opportunity. Our client is a market leader in their field and has just secured significant private equity investment to fuel an ambitious UK and US growth plan. In short, this is a business going places, and this is a role right at the heart of how they get there.

What’s on offer?

  • £50,000+ upwards depending on experience, plus a 10% bonus
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising with service
  • Private healthcare and dental schemes
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Pension contributions that increase with length of service
  • Continuous training and development, backed by private equity investment
  • A newly refurbished, open-plan office and a genuinely supportive, cross-department culture

Reporting to the UK Operations Director, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end supply chain sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and keeping stock at exactly the right level to meet demand without overstocking. It’s a hands-on, autonomous role with real responsibility and genuine scope to make your mark.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Why This is a great Opportunity This is a business that genuinely means it when it says its people are its greatest asset. With private equity backing and a clear plan to scale in the UK and break into the US, they’re investing in their team, their systems and their future. For the right person, this is a chance to own the procurement function within a business on a serious growth trajectory and to grow your own career right alongside it.

What you will be doing

  • Developing and executing procurement strategies that deliver cost savings, quality and supplier reliability
  • Leading supplier selection, negotiation and contract management
  • Managing purchase orders end to end, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and value for money
  • Overseeing the full inventory lifecycle: stock planning, reordering, replenishment and optimisation
  • Implementing effective inventory controls, including stock counts, cycle checks and root-cause analysis of discrepancies
  • Reviewing BOMs and inventory data to identify slow-moving, obsolete or high-risk stock and taking corrective action
  • Ensuring accurate, real-time stock visibility across all company locations
  • Partnering with finance to forecast and monitor procurement budgets and stock valuations
  • Driving cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or service
  • Leading continuous improvement across procurement and stock management, supporting digitalisation and automation
  • Managing supply chain risk through contingency planning and approved supplier lists

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience in procurement, inventory management and supply chain
  • Someone from an “in-house” role, not really 3PL
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a sharp eye for trends, costs and inventory accuracy
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the confidence to secure favourable supplier terms
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong organisation and the ability to manage a busy, varied workload
  • Someone who can work autonomously, use their initiative and bring a genuine “can do” attitude
  • Access Dimensions experience would be desirable, but is by no means essential

If you’re a procurement professional looking to own a key role in an ambitious, PE-backed market leader that genuinely invests in its people, this is one worth a conversation.

Apply directly or get in touch with the Joanne Sizer at ALF Recruit for a private and confidential discussion about this role.
