Job Title: Procurement Assistant
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £35,000 per annum + 9% Performance Bonus
About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading specialist in the utility and infrastructure sector, dedicated to supporting its people through comprehensive benefits and clear career progression. They are looking for a proactive Procurement Assistant to join their team and support the delivery of their procurement strategy. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to sourcing, logistics, and supplier management within a fast-paced environment.
The Role
You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of daily procurement activities. Working closely with internal stakeholders and the wider procurement team, you will ensure that materials, plant, and equipment are sourced efficiently to meet operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing & Ordering: Sourcing, ordering, and tracking materials, plant, and equipment to ensure timely delivery.
- Supplier Coordination: Obtaining and comparing supplier quotations to drive cost-effective decisions and supporting supplier relationships.
- Logistics Management: Coordinating logistics to ensure the efficient movement of goods and services.
- Administration: Maintaining accurate procurement records, trackers, and reporting data, including raising purchase orders.
- Process Improvement: Assisting with cost control initiatives and identifying improvements to procurement workflows.

Requirements
- Proven experience in a procurement, purchasing, or supply chain support role.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Experience raising purchase orders and coordinating with suppliers.
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to manage competing demands.
- Desirable: Experience within civil engineering or groundworks.
