Procurement Assistant - Salary dependent on experience and qualifications + Excellent Benefits Package
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Procurement Assistant to join a small, collaborative team based in our office in the beautiful Peak District National Park. This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day procurement function, including supplier co-ordination, inventory management, and ensuring timely and cost-effective supply of materials.
The successful candidate will be organised, pro-active, and confident working with internal teams and suppliers to maintain stock levels, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities
- Work with relevant departments to manage inventory requirements with the use of ERP/MRP system.
- Facilitate timely creation of requisitions/purchase orders.
- Manage and maintain required stock and safety stock levels.
- Work closely with Goods In and suppliers to handle any quality and quantity issues with procured items.
- Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible.
- Maintain records and documentation within the department to allow full traceability.
- Contribute to the development of Procurement performance
- Develop relationships with internal stakeholders to understand future requirements
- Co-ordinate and administer all import activities, ensuring accurate completion of customs clearance documentation, import duty requirements, tariff classifications, and Chamber of Commerce documentation and reporting in compliance with UK and international trade regulations.
Key Skills And Qualifications
- Previous experience with MRP/ ERP systems.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office – Excel, Word Outlook and Teams
- Experience in managing and negotiating with suppliers.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Have the ability to work on their own initiative with minimum supervision, prioritise workload and the skills to be a good team player.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing and design environment.
- Ability to understand internal and external technical information.
- Experience of Customs Import procedures.

- 37.50 Hours per week, Mon-Thurs 8.00 – 4.45 pm, Friday 8.00 -12.30 pm (Early finish on a Friday).
