About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Assistant within our Commercial, Diagnostic, Equipment, and Services team. This role will allow you to become an integral member of our category teams, ensuring procurement processes are managed efficiently within identified KPIs.
As the Procurement Assistant, your responsibilities will include supporting end-to-end procurement processes to deliver a high-level of customer service for both our customers and stakeholders. Your work will ensure relationships are managed effectively, targets are met, and goals are achieved.
Every Day You Will…
- Achieve procurement goals or provide support to others following established procurement systems and protocols
- Identify and develop an understanding of external developments or emerging issues, critically evaluating their potential impact on or usefulness to the organisation
- Gather and report on contract performance, contributing this insight to new contract processes
- Perform basic contract management tasks
- Conduct primary data research and analyze key themes or trends by selecting relevant information
- Prepare moderately complex documents using office software
- Extract and summarise data for reports, including input from other colleagues into spreadsheets and standard formats
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the organisation’s policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and regulatory frameworks
- Arrange actions, meetings, and events to facilitate stakeholder engagement
- Collect and collate information on cost factors, market conditions, innovation, and alternative suppliers, providing meaningful intel to senior colleagues
- Deliver high-quality customer service, identifying opportunities to secure or retain business while resolving complex queries and issues

Required Skills & Qualifications
To thrive in this position, you will ideally possess:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel (casting keen eye for number crunching)
- A mint in CIPS (not mandatory but advantageous)
- Previous experience in a commercial/hospital/medical equipment setting—familiarity with procurement or supply logistics would be beneficial
- Strong communicative skills for listening, presenting idea, and guiding discussions
- Meaningful talking and writing that shares concrete insights with audiences
- Presenting in ways that persuade and resonate
- Adaptability to target diverse stakeholder needs and provide support and guidance
- Working autonomously, particularly in analysing data from different channels
- Collaboration mindset: add value, help without fingers crossed, draw out richer insights from others
- First-rate problem-solving capabilities, able to extract meaningful info to make recommendations
