Job Description Procurement Category Manager (6-month secondment) – Partners Category
Full time Derby/Hybrid
Why join Rolls-Royce?
At Rolls-Royce we are proud to be a business that has truly helped to shape the modern world and are committed to always being a force for progress; powering, protecting and connecting people everywhere. By joining Rolls-Royce, you'll have the opportunity to work on world-class solutions, supported by a culture that believes individuality is our greatest strength, and all perspectives, experiences and backgrounds help us innovate and enable our high-performance culture.
Position Summary
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into one of the most commercially significant areas of the Rolls-Royce supply chain. As part of the ITP team within the Partners category, you’ll gain first-hand experience managing a portion of our biggest partner relationship, while working alongside senior leaders and cross-functional partners. This 6-month interim position has been created to provide cover while a key team member is seconded elsewhere. It offers a unique chance to experience the Partners category, demonstrate leadership in a complex commercial environment, and gain visibility across the Procurement and Operations leadership teams. Strong performance in this role will position the successful candidate well for future resourcing and career development opportunities within Partners and Procurement more broadly.
What you will be doing
We are looking for a Procurement Category Manager to lead the Defence element of the ITP relationship within the Partners category, alongside some Civil aspects of the ITP Aero UK (Hucknall) account. This is a combined Strategic Procurement and In Contract Role reporting to the VP of ITP. You’ll be at the forefront of delivering value from our existing contracts, ensuring both Rolls-Royce and our suppliers live up to their commitments. This role offers a real opportunity to make a measurable difference: reducing cost, driving supplier performance, and shaping how we manage our most important partners. You’ll blend leadership and hands-on commercial delivery, working closely with colleagues in Supplier Management Teams, Procurement, Engineering and Quality to turn opportunities into results. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining data-driven analysis and complex negotiations — all within a fast-moving, high-profile environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
