Procurement Category Manager

Sector: Utilities / Infrastructure

Location: Warrington (Hybrid)

Salary: £60,000 + bonus + and an excellent further benefits package

Sea Global is proud to be partnering with one of the UK's leading organisations to recruit a Procurement Category Manager into their high performing Procurement team.

As the business continues to invest in major infrastructure programmes and critical operational projects, this role offers an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team and play a key part in delivering strategic procurement initiatives.

This role will suit someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys building strong relationships across multiple business functions, and can balance long-term strategic objectives with operational procurement requirements.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end procurement and sourcing activities across a designated category portfolio.
  • Design and implement category and sourcing strategies that deliver value, mitigate risk, and support business objectives.
  • Manage the procurement of major maintenance and service contracts, including programmes valued in the hundreds of millions of pounds.
  • Drive commercial performance through effective supplier engagement, negotiation, demand management, and market analysis.
  • Ensure all procurement activity is conducted in line with organisational governance, policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Experience & Requirements

  • Experience within strategic sourcing and category management, managing complex procurement categories.
  • Demonstrable success leading complex, high-value sourcing and tendering programmes.
  • Well-developed commercial acumen, including contract management, supplier negotiations, and value delivery.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively within a fast-paced environment.
