About the Role

Shape the future of procurement at Intact UK by enabling consistent, compliant, and efficient delivery. As the gateway for how procurement operates, you will provide the guidance and oversight that allows strategic teams to focus on value, supplier outcomes, and risk management, while ensuring a high-quality experience.


Your Impact

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Design the future of procurement operations by:

    • Driving the operating model that drives procurement ways of working
    • Establishing governance and direction
    • Guaranteeing policies and frameworks remain clear, proportionate, and consistently adopted across sourcing, buying, and categories
  • Orchestrate and elevate demand by:

    • Developing and setting operating rhythms
    • Refining the intake and triage of requests, prioritising effectively
    • Managing demand volumes, throughput, and operational constraints
  • Lead buying enablement and transactional delivery:

    • Overseeing procure-to-pay processes and ensuring compliance
    • Enforcing approved buying channels and managing supplier onboarding seamlessly
    • Maintaining strict separation between sourcing and transactional buying functions

  • Own and optimise procurement systems and data:

    • Ensuring tools and processes support policy adherence
    • Providing high-quality insights for decision-making

  • Drive AI and automation strategy:

    • Setting direction for transformative digital investments
    • Aligning automation and AI with governance and risk controls
    • Realising benefits and continuous improvements to enhance efficiencies

Requirements

To excel in this leadership role, you will bring:

  • Deep expertise in procurement operations or transformation within the financial services or regulated industries, with a demonstrated understanding of controlled environments for consistent and compliant execution.

  • Proven design and governance skills in aligning procurement frameworks, policies, and operating models with business goals— **/ ensuring strategic efficiency, compliance, and value-delivery / **.

  • Leadership in high-transactional areas, including procurement systems transition, buyer enablement, or procure-to-pay functions.

  • Knowledge and experience with procurement platforms, robust data infrastructure, and automation frameworks, to ensure controlled yet effective transformation.

  • Experience shaping AI or digital strategy, balancing innovation with risk and governance.
