What Will You Do? Make an Impact!
As Procurement & Commercial Support Manager, you will:
- Support site operations by improving supplier governance, commercial control, and cost transparency across operational spend, maintenance, and shutdown work.
- Collaborate closely with site leadership, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and SHEQ to ensure supplier decisions are commercially sound, risk-aware, and well-documented—while keeping processes practical for a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading supplier governance:
- Reviewing supplier performance, capability, compliance, risk, and value.
- Supporting supplier negotiations:
- Managing framework agreements, benchmarking, and alternative sourcing.
- Scrutinising commercials:
- Evaluating scopes, quotations, rate structures, labour hours, material charges, variations, and invoices.
- Providing procurement support:
- For shutdowns, major maintenance, and high-value operational work.
- Introducing practical procurement processes:
- Including approval routes, quote evaluations, change records, and performance measures.
- Driving continuous improvement while ensuring procurement supports—not slows—operations.

Essential Requirements
- Experience in procurement, commercial, contract, or supplier management within an industrial, operational, engineering, or maintenance environment.
- Technical understanding of:
- Labour-based contracts, cost-plus pricing, materials procurement, and maintenance/engineering operations.
- Negotiation skills with suppliers and experience managing commercial agreements.
- Critical thinking abilities:
- Reviewing and challenging costs, invoices, scopes, and commercial terms with robust validation.
- Communication and collaboration strengths:
- Ability to build trust and appropriately challenge across site teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced industrial environments.
Desirable Skills (But Not Essential)
- Experience with plant shutdowns, major maintenance, or high-value operational projects.
- A background in engineering, technical, quantity surveying, or commercial operations.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Work experience in regulated, high-risk, industrial, environmental, or waste management sectors.
