Salary and Duration
This post attracts a salary of £25,950 for a fixed 12-month period for 37 hours per week.
What You Will Be Doing
To assist the Procurement and Contracts department in the delivery of professional procurement activities which support the objectives of the Chief Constable’s Priorities and the Police and Crime Plan for Dyfed Powys, in compliance with the legislative and regulatory framework. To contribute positively to the strategic Procurement team, undertaking work related to procurement processes, sourcing, supporting the requirements of procurement legislation, contract management, sustainably (social value) responsible procurement, general administrative tasks, support to client departments and to offer support in the delivery of a professional and robust procurement service.
About The Department
Procurement is recognised as a strategic function that organises and understands expenditure, influencing early planning and service design, and is involved in decision making to support the delivery of overarching objectives. Procurement provides strategic advice to the organisation in relation to Third Party Contracts and undertake strategic procurement processes for Dyfed Powys Police and the OPCC.

We work on a local, regional and national basis that allows the team to collaborate with other Forces and organisations to deliver solutions that support the requirements of Frontline operations.
The Commercial Lifecycle procurement supports Precontract, Procure, and Contract Management. Procurement also facilitates the consideration of Sustainability, Risk, Information Management and Security when dealing with Third Party Suppliers.
We are a team of 4 procurement professionals that work on an agile basis but also work within the office to ensure that team-support is provided. There is opportunity to be involved in procurement programmes across Policing which enable collaboration and provide solutions for Policing nationally. As part of this role, we are looking for someone to drive sustainability and decarbonisation in procurement processes and for goods and services.

Please note that you must be working towards a degree and be in your penultimate year of study.

It will give you the opportunity to put your academic knowledge to the test in a practical and professional setting where you will gain valuable work experience and training. To be eligible for the Dyfed Powys Police Internship Programme:
- You must currently be a graduate student within your penultimate year of study.
- Have lived in the UK for five continuous years, immediately prior to application. The calculation of the five year period of time refers to the period immediately before an application is made.
