About The Role
The Junior Buyer will support the Indirect Procurement function in delivering a cost-effective, compliant, and efficient supply of goods and services across GSF Car Parts. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, the role will contribute to a range of procurement activities including sourcing, supplier onboarding and management, contract administration, ESG compliance, invoice validation, and cost control initiatives.
This role offers a broad exposure to multiple indirect spend categories, providing an excellent opportunity to develop core procurement skills, build commercial awareness, and gain hands-on experience within a fast-paced business environment. The Junior Buyer will play an active role in supporting continuous improvement within the procurement function, with clear opportunities to develop and progress a career within the Indirect Procurement team.
This role is based onsite at our Wolverhampton Head Office and offers a hybrid working arrangement.
Main Duties
- Support day-to-day purchasing activity across a range of indirect spend categories, ensuring continuity of supply
- Raise, place, and manage purchase orders in line with company P2P policies and controls
- Support sourcing activity, including RFQs, supplier comparisons, and basic cost analysis
- Assist in the delivery of annual cost reduction and efficiency targets
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure a timely and effective supply of goods and services
- Manage supplier onboarding, maintain compliance documentation, and ensure accurate records are held within the document library
- Support supplier performance monitoring and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities
- Manage invoice queries and work with suppliers and Finance to resolve pricing or invoice discrepancies
- Ensure ongoing compliance with procurement processes and governance standards
- Support the use of systems and AI tools to drive efficiency and streamline procurement processes
- Assist with supplier rationalisation initiatives to support cost control and simplification

About You
Skills, Know-How and Experience
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- A clear interest in procurement and supply chain, with a desire to develop professionally within the function
- CIPS qualification (Level 2 or Level 3), or working towards CIPS, is desirable
- Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or administrative role is preferred but not essential
- Good numerical and analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with stakeholders
- Ability to organise workload, prioritise tasks, and work effectively to deadlines
- A proactive and positive attitude, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers
- A strong customer service mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement
- An awareness of how systems, data, and AI tools can be used to improve efficiency and support procurement processes
