We are currently looking to hire a Procurement Engineer in our SCM Procurement department at our coastal office in Weymouth. Do you love working in a fun, forward-thinking environment? Then join us at ASMPT!
As a Procurement Engineer, you will act as the purchasing representative for SCM and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, partnering with Engineering, Supplier Quality and Commodity Managers to deliver cost-effective, high-quality sourcing solutions from concept through to production.

You will:
- Partner with Engineering to drive Design-to-Cost throughout NPI.
- Manage sourcing, supplier selection, RFQs, negotiations and supplier nomination.
- Develop BOMs and sourcing packages for prototype and pre-series builds.
- Ensure materials are delivered to meet project timelines.
- Work with Supplier Quality to support successful product launches.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Onboard new suppliers offering technology and cost advantages.
About You:
You are a commercially minded procurement professional with engineering knowledge who enjoys collaborating across functions to deliver innovative products. You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and are comfortable influencing stakeholders across engineering, quality, project management and procurement. You enjoy solving complex sourcing challenges, balancing cost, quality and delivery, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve products and supply chains.
You Will Have:
- Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Supply Chain or Procurement.
- Experience in procurement/sourcing within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting NPI projects.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.
- Project management and analytical skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP desirable).
- Experience preparing RFQs, analysing quotations and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Knowledge of Design-to-Cost and product lifecycle/NPI processes.
- Ability to analyse cost data and contribute to business cases.
- Experience working with cross-functional and international teams.
