About the Role
- Position: Full-time / Employee
- Location: Remote-first within the UK or Spain. Candidates must live in and possess valid work authorization for one of these two countries.

Procurement Lead (Senior, Ground-Up Role)
You will build the procurement function and policy from scratch, driving standardization and cost savings across key spend areas: Networks, Sales & Marketing, and IT/Software. Your responsibilities include:

- Designing how Airalo buys, embedding a disciplined purchase-to-pay process into our new ERP, and consolidating fragmented spending into a governed, competitive, and auditable system.
- Delivering hard savings that fund growth and protect EBITDA.
You will report directly to the CFO and collaborate across all spending functions within the company.
Responsibilities
Procurement Policy & Governance
- Design and implement Airalo’s procurement policy, delegation-of-authority thresholds, supplier onboarding, and competitive-tendering standards.
- Establish clear, proportionate approval workflows—balancing operational control without slowing business progress.
Category Management

Owner of category strategies across high-spend areas:
- Network & infrastructure (e.g., capacity, routing, wholesale)
- S & M (agencies, media, martech)
- IT/SaaS
- Professional services

Build a single source of truth for spends, vendor taxonomy, knowing:
- What we buy
- From whom
- On what terms

Standardize, improve credit terms, and segregation of duties, ensuring anti-fraud controls aligned with SOX-lite frameworks.

Maintain a validated savings pipeline reported to Finance, supporting allocation of savings to approve buys for budget control.
Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation

Lead competitive sourcing and high-value negotiations from a total-cost-of-ownership perspective.

Set and achieve savings targets, improving working capital.

Partner with Finance’s zero-based budgeting process, ensuring sourcing wins translate into budgeted savings.

Supplier & Contract Management
- Oversee master agreements, renewals calendar, supplier performance, and third-party risk & due diligence.
Purchase-to-Pay Process & Systems
- Drive PO/PR (Purchase Order/Request) processes, three-way matching and clean accruals.
- Embed procurement into the ERP as a core stakeholder, ensuring seamless integration.
Requirements
Technical Skills & Experience
Experience of 10+ years in:
- Procurement, strategic sourcing, or commercial/category management.
- Building or materially scaling a procurement function in a fast-growth company.
- Deep expertise across indirect spend categories:
- Marketing
- IT/SaaS
- Professional services.
- Exposure to network, telecom, or infrastructure spend (e.g., wholesale, capacity, routing) is essential.
- Track record of running competitive tenders and resultant complex negotiations, proving measurable, validated savings.
- Hands-on experience designing PO/PR and purchase-to-pay processes, ideally within an ERP system (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
- Strong knowledge of procurement policy, delegation of authority, supplier risk, and internal controls.
Soft Skills & Leadership
- Influencer capable of changing buying behavior through evidence-based insights.
- Credible with senior leaders across Networks, Markets & Technology.
Preferred Experience
- Direct involvement in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) or P2P (Procure-to-Pay) implementation.
- Operating in a high-growth, multi-currency, multi-jurisdiction environment.
